Introduction:

Society of population & Environment Journalist Nepal a non. Profitable, non political, non partition & liberal organization, established in 2052 B.S. (1995) is restlessly working to raise awareness in the field of population management & environment deterioration check among the general public in the national interest. The society was registered from District Administration Office, Kathmandu and Social Welfare Council under the Ministry of Woman, Children and Social Welfare.

Why is SOPEJ-Nepal established?

The globe is shrinking because of uncontrolled and rapid growth of population despite the attempts made to check the overgrowth of population which has not only effected the human being but also endangered the life of animals causing lack of good stuff in the globe.

This problem has mostly squeezed the developing countries like Nepal where the life is very difficult due to its topography. The destruction caused deforestation by natural climities like landslide, flood and draught here further worsened it which in turn has endangered the existing life and misbalanced ecological balance in the nature. The various pollution in water, air, and soil have resulted it to environmental pollution. The only cause to destroying forest alimenting natural heritage of the pressure of rapid population growth; thus the necessity of checking the rapid growth of population has arise today .

Therefore, SOPEJ - Nepal is formed with the objectives of rising awareness of overgrowth of population and its consequences on an individual, community and the whole world.
